Conference Program Committee Still Making Decisions

The MPSA Conference Program Committee is starting to send e-mail notifications to some individuals indicating that their proposal has been accepted. However, section heads are still making their decisions, which should be completed by the end of November. To check on the status of your proposal, login to your account and click on "My Proposals."


US Senate Rejects Amendment To Eliminate NSF Political Science Funding

The US Senate has rejected Sen. Coburn (R-OK) amendment to eliminate funding for the NSF political science program. Thirty-six senators voted for the amendment, and 62 voted against it.


Call for Undergraduate Papers

The call for undergraduate papers for the 2010 MPSA National Conference is open. You must be registered to submit a proposal. To establish your account or register, click here and follow these instructions.

Elinor Ostrom First Woman to Win Nobel Prize in Economics

Elinor "Lin" Ostrom, Arthur F. Bentley Professor of Political Science at Indiana University, Bloomington, and Oliver Williamson, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley, were awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel on October 12. Ostrom is the first woman to win the prize, which has been awarded to 62 men since it was first given in 1969. She is a past president and member of the MPSA. Click here to read more.
