- Geneva's eVoting Initiative – Michel Chevallier (Chancellery of Geneva)
Geneva began experimenting with Internet technologies in 2003. Mr. Chevallier, who represents the interests of the State of Geneva in this project, will explain the drivers behind this initiative, the best practices that have emerged and what they have learnt through the various votes.

Prof. Trechsel, the director of the eDemocracy Center at University of Geneva, He will talk about the major issues linked to Internet Voting in Geneva and more generally in Europe.

- Security and Technological Aspects of Internet Voting – Michel Warynski (State of Geneva)
Mr. Warynski, head of the eVoting project and IT expert, will describe the work of selecting the service providers, managing the various parts of the process, establishing security standards and solving all technical issues related to internet voting.

- Lessons learned from US elections and the way forward Analysis of Elections – Michael Alvarez (Caltech)
Prof. Alvarez, co-director of the Caltech-MIT Voting Technology Project, will describe the value of academic forensic analysis of elections. He will suggest solutions and proposals for important data to collect and analysis that can be used to improve future voting procedures. (presentation: PowerPoint, PDF)
- Voting Experience and Procedures; what goes wrong and how we can fix that - Ted Selker (MIT)
Prof. Selker, co-director of the Caltech-MIT project will share the results of his work on studying ballot design, verification and voting procedures. Voter intention can be lost from ballot design to the various steps involved in voting processes. Simple improvements will be suggested that can reduce lost votes. (presentation: PowerPoint, PDF)
- Security in voting technology and to make it better - Ron Rivest (MIT):
Prof. Rivest, a world expert in cryptography and a Professor at MIT, will talk about the various technological challenges of electronic voting, and will describe methods to improve voting. (Presentation Notes)
